PRINCETON, N.J. (5/9/15) - The Princeton women's lacrosse team faces No. 6 seed Stony Brook on Sunday, May 10 in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Game time is at noon at LaValle Stadium, the home of the Seawolves.
EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament after an 18-8 win over Fairfield in the first round. The Tigers earned the Ivy League's automatic bid by winning the Ivy League Tournament Championship after an undefeated league season.
Sophomore Olivia Hompe and senior Erin Slifer are tied for the lead in scoring with 68 points apiece. Hompe has scored a team high 52 goals and adds 16 assists, while Slifer has 41 goals and 27 helpers. The pair have the most ground balls on the team with Hompe picking up 25, and Slifer grabbing 23. Senior Erin McMunn adds 28 goals and 17 assists, while junior Stephanie Paloscio has 20 goals and assists each. Sophomore Anna Doherty and junior Anya Gersoff contribute 26 points apiece. The pair are also the team leaders around the center circle as Gersoff has 37 draws and Doherty has 31. Doherty adds a team-high 17 caused turnovers and 20 ground balls. Sophomore Ellie DeGarmo is 13-3 in net and has a 9.12 goals against average and a .458 save percentage. Backup senior Annie Woehling is 2-0.

This will be the first meeting between Princeton and Stony Brook.
SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook is the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and earned a bye in the first round. The Seawolves are 18-1 overall and earned an automatic bid to the tournament after winning the America East conference at 6-0. Stony Brook sports the nation's best scoring defense, limited teams to just 5.37 goals per game.
Goalie Kaitlyn Leahy has the second-best GAA in the nation at 5.60 and has a .405 save percentage to go along with her 18-1 record. The team has high passing efficiency, with the third most assists in the nation - with 61 percent of its goal being assisted upon. Kylie Ohlmiller leads the team offensively with 85 points on 41 goals and 44 assists. She is fourth nationally in both assists and points. Courtney Murphy has scored 70 goals and eight assists for 78 points, she ranks third in the NCAA in goals. Dorrien Van Dyke chips in 58 points and leads the team in draw controls with 47. Michelle Rubino has 35 points and 37 draws and a team-high 20 caused turnovers. Taylor Ranftle adds 38 points, while Amber Kupres has a team-high 29 ground balls.
