August 17, 2015 | Women's Lacrosse
PRINCETON, N.J. (8/17/15) - The Princeton women's lacrosse team was honored today by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as an Academic Honor Squad.
A total of 83 Division I teams were honored for having cumulative team GPAs of 3.0 or higher during the 2014-15 academic year.
"Our Tigers are a hard working group, both on the field and in the classroom, and as their coach, I'm extremely proud of the commitment they show to their education each and every day," head coach Chris Sailer said. "It's not easy balancing the demands of rigorous academics and top level Division I lacrosse, but our players prove it's possible when you love what you do and invest yourself fully in the process."
Princeton has earned the honor every year since at least 2003*.
The IWLCA will announce its individual honorees within the next two weeks.
Princeton reached the NCAA quarterfinals during the 2014 season, defeating Fairfield and Stony Brook in the first two rounds. The Tigers won both the Ivy League, with a perfect 7-0 record, and the Ivy League Tournament Championship as well. Overall, the squad posted a 16-4 record.
* award information prior to 2003 is unknown.
