Game Summary |
Duquesne had three shots within the goal frame Sunday afternoon at Roberts Stadium, and fortunately for the Dukes, all three went in and all three were needed. That's where it stood until less than five minutes remained before the half. Duquesne Caroline Lacy took a chip pass from teammate Katie O'Connor about 25 yards from the goal and sent it forward to a charging Malea Fabean, who sent it past a diving Hannah Winner and into the goal to tie it. Just 40 seconds into the second half, Princeton went back in front. Jesse McDonough sent a long pass forward to Mimi Asom, who got ahead of two defenders and won a 1-on-1 battle with Duquesne keeper Kyra Murphy, making it 2-1 in favor of Princeton. |
Game Notes |
• This was the first meeting between Duquesne and Princeton. • The goals for Asom and Lussi were the second goal of the season for each, and Lussi became just the fifth player in program history with 30 career goals. Lussi and Asom combined for 12 of the team's 25 shots overall Sunday and six of the 10 on goal. • Junior Nicole Loncar made her first start of the season and freshman Samantha McDonough made her career debut. |
