• Through Monday, Division I programs were 96-2 this season in games against Division III programs, with the two D-III wins by Louisiana College over McNeese State and by Roanoke College over North Carolina A&T.
• This will be the 28th time that Princeton has had a non-Division I game to end finals break, a tradition that began in 1986 and has been deviated from only three times since, in 2006 (played Davidson), in 2007 (played Seton Hall) and in 2012 (opened Ivy season, played Penn).
• Princeton is a perfect 27-0 when the non-Division I game has been played right after the finals break. Princeton's largest margin of victory in the game was 54 points in 2002 against Western Maryland and the smallest was nine in 1998 against TCNJ.
• This will be the first time since 2010 that Princeton has played a non-New Jersey opponent in this game. The Tigers faced TCNJ in 2011, 2012 and 2013, Kean in 2014 and Rowan in 2015.
• Beyond the school about only 30 miles away, Bryn Athyn's basketball staff has a Princeton connection. Head coach Justin Baxter's first season at Arcadia University, then known as Beaver College, came under head coach Chris Mooney, a 1994 Princeton alum who then went to serve as an assistant coach under Joe Scott '87 at Air Force before taking over the Air Force job for one seaon when Scott came to Princeton in 2004. Mooney has skippered Richmond since 2005. Mooney coached at Arcadia, then Beaver, from 1997-2000.
• Baxter is also Bryn Athyn's first men's basketball head coach. The school added the program for the 2013-14 season, and last year was its first playing the sport as part of the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
• The Lions are allowing opponents a .482 clip from the field and .395 from beyond the arc adding up to 83.8 points per game. Princeton averages a .448 clip from the field, .358 from distance and 76.8 points per game.
• For its part, Bryn Athyn averages a .393 clip from the field and .296 from distance on the way to 66.5 points per game. Princeton allows opponents a .442 average from the field, .356 from 3-point range and 6.92 points per game.
• Through Wednesday's games, Princeton was the winningest team in New Jersey over Mitch Henderson's four-plus seasons guiding the Tigers. His 84 wins were two more than Seton Hall's 82 as the next-most wins over that span.
• Under Mitch Henderson, the Tigers now have a 34-29 (.540) record in the pre-New Year portion of the schedule and a 50-21 (.704) record from Jan. 1 forward.
• Princeton has made at least half its field goal tries six times this season. Three of those occurrences have come int he team's last five games, against Bucknell, at Hampton and at Norfolk State.
• Princeton has shot .400 or better from the field 10 times in the 14 games this season and is 9-1 in those games (loss vs. Maryland). The Penn game was the first time this season Princeton won without shooting at least .400 from the field.
• Princeton has made 10 3-pointers in a game seven this season, most recently at Norfolk State on Jan. 5.
• The Tigers saw a couple of underclassmen set career bests over the Virginia trip earlier this month, with sophomore Alec Brennan going 4 for 4 from the field at Hampton to put in a career-best 10 points and rookie Myles Stephens went 5 for 5 from the field at Norfolk State to net a career-best 11 points. Sophomore Aaron Young's eight points at Norfolk State were a season-best.
• Junior Spencer Weisz has scored at least 10 points in five straight games through the Penn game. It's the second time he's done that in his career, also scoring 10+ in five straight games from Feb. 15 to Mar. 1, 2014.
• Freshman Devin Cannady has also scored in 10+ in five straight games through the Penn game, and the occurrence was the first time in his Tiger career.
• Junior Henry Caruso went 12 of 17 from the field on the Virginia trip, boosting his field goal percentage to .591 on the season. He has made at least half his tries from the field in 10 of the 13 games this season.
• Sophomore Amir Bell is coming off a career game at Penn in which he went 9 of 13 from the field, 4 of 5 from 3 and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line on the way to 28 points.
• Princeton entered Saturday's games as the top team in the Ivy in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3) and defensive rebounding percentage (.777). Princeton was second in scoring offense (76.8 ppg), turnover margin (+1.43), defensive rebounds (27.9 drpg) and 3s made per game (9.1).
• Entering Thursday's games, Princeton was in the top 10 percent nationally (top 34) in four statistical categories, including fewest turnovers (1st, 153), fewest fouls (2nd, 240), 3s per game (28th, 9.1) and turnovers per game (28th, 10.9). Henry Caruso, Pete Miller, Devin Cannady and Spencer Weisz combined for 10 top-250 individual rankings, led by Cannady's No. 11 ranking in free-throw percentage at .900.
• Princeton's 76.79 ppg average isn't far from the team record for a season-ending scoring average of 79.74, set in 1971-72.
• Under Mitch Henderson, Princeton has scored 90 points in a game five times. That's more than all other post-Pete Carril coaches combined and the fourth-most under a coach in program history. Princeton scored 90+ 21 times under Pete Carril, 18 times under Butch van Breda Kolff and 11 times under Cappy Cappon.
• Princeton has no player in the top nine in the league in rebounding, but the Tigers have four in the top 20, including Henry Caruso (ninth, 6.9), Pete Miller (11th, 5.9), Spencer Weisz (12th, 5.8) and Steven Cook (17th, 4.9). No other team has more than three players in the Ivy's top 20 in rebounding.
• Princeton's top six scorers - Henry Caruso, Steven Cook, Devin Cannady, Spencer Weisz, Amir Bell and Pete Miller - have scored 867 of the team's 1075 points this season, or 80.7 percent.
• The number of 3-pointers Princeton makes hasn't been a predictor of wins so far this season. The Tigers are 5-2 when they make at least 10 3s and 5-2 when they make fewer than 10.
• Princeton's juniors (Caruso, Cook, Miller, Rayner, Weisz) have scored 600 of the team's 1075 points, or 55.8 percent. Players who are able to return next year have scored 99.3 percent of the team's points (1068 of 1075).
• Princeton has had seven double-doubles this season, including three in one game at Lipscomb, the first time that has happened in program history. Princeton's seven double-doubles this season, by four players (Caruso 3, Cook, Miller, Weisz 2) have already surpassed last year's five, which were all by Hans Brase. Princeton had seven double-doubles by four players in 2013-14 and 10 double-doubles by three players in 2010-11. Twenty-six double-doubles, by the 1964-65 and 1966-67 teams, is the program record.

• Bryn Athyn is in the North Eastern Athletic Conference, an NCAA Division III conference that includes 14 schools primarily in New York and Pennsylvania but also in New Jersey (the women's College of Saint Elizabeth) and Washington, D.C. (Gallaudet).
• Gallaudet was the top pick in the NEAC's preseason coaches poll, winning on points despite receiving the second-most first-place votes with three. Lancaster Bible received six first-place votes and ranked second, a point behind Gallaudet. Through Thursday, Lancaster Bible was leading the NEAC's South Division, which includes Bryn Athyn, by two games over Gallaudet.
• Bryn Athyn was due for a very busy weekend with games Thursday, Saturday and the Princeton game Sunday, but the team's game Saturday at Penn State-Abington was postponed to Jan. 30 due to the expected snow.
• Ten Lions have started games this season and only one, junior Deion Boyer, had started all 13 games. Sophomore James Flagg, from just across the Delaware River in Levittown, Pa., is the tallest Lion at 6-7.

| Mitch Henderson '98 is in his fifth season as Princeton's head coach. His overall record at Princeton is 84-50. Under Henderson, Princeton is 46-11 at home, 38-19 in the Ivy League, and 23-5 in the Ivy League at home. Princeton is 68-17 when leading at the half under Henderson. Henderson is the first Princeton coach since John Thompson III '88 (2000-04) to have winning seasons in each of his first four campaigns. He is the sixth Princeton coach to accomplish that, following Frederick Leuhring (1912-20), Butch van Breda Kolff '44 (1962-67), Pete Carril (1967-96), Bill Carmody (1996-2000) and Thompson III '88 (2000-04). Henderson is in seventh place on the Princeton all-time wins list. Bill Carmody, who was a Princeton assistant for Henderson's first two seasons and head coach for Henderson's last two, is in sixth place with 92 wins. Carmody hired Henderson as an assistant coach at Northwestern in 2000, where Henderson remained for 11 seasons until coming to Princeton. Henderson was a second-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 1998, an honorable mention All-Ivy Leaguer in 1997, and was a two-time Ivy Rookie of the Week in 1994-95. Henderson graduated as the fourth-leading assist man in program history (kept since 1974-75) and is now sixth, having been surpassed by two of his players, Ian Hummer '13 and T.J. Bray '14. Henderson graduated fifth in career steals (kept since 1974-75) and is now ninth, having been passed by former teammate Gabe Lewullis '99, Will Venable '05, Marcus Schroeder '10 and his former player T.J. Bray '14. Henderson is one of six Princeton alumni who are current Division I head coaches, including John Thompson III '88 (Georgetown), Joe Scott '87 (Denver), Mike Brennan '94 (American), Chris Mooney '94 (Richmond) and Sydney Johnson '97 (Fairfield). |
