Jan. 28 TigerCast: Marco Bove, Jonathan Schleifer and Claire McIlmail
January 28, 2016 | General, Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving, Wrestling
With important Ivy League matchups and multiple days of home competition upcoming, swimmers Marco Bove and Claire McIlmail joined wrestler Jonathan Schleifer on the upcoming edition of TigerCast.
Bove is one of several men's swimming seniors who are hoping to claim their first HYP victory in their final opportunity. Despite winning two Ivy League team titles over the last three years, Bove has yet to experience a dual win over Harvard, and he'd love nothing more than to get it during one of his final competitions at DeNunzio Pool.
Schleifer hasn't wrestled since his exciting run to the finals at the Midlands Championships. Princeton's first ever Ivy League Rookie of the Year in wrestling, Schleifer will lead Princeton into three home duals, including its Ivy League opener against Penn. He talks about becoming the team's first ever Midlands finalist, as well as the importance of getting dual success this weekend, which includes an in-state showdown with Rutgers.
McIlmail is a sophomore swimmer who saw first-hand how much momentum can be generated from a strong HYP weekend. The Tigers rallied to tie Harvard in Boston last year, and then put forth an even more exciting comeback to win the Ivy League title. She reflects on a wild freshman season, and how much all of those experiences have helped her this season; she also talks about the excitement of a first big Ivy League meet at DeNunzio Pool.
