Coming off a Top-10 performance at the 2015 Midlands Championships, the Princeton wrestling team wants nothing more than to enter the Ivy League portion of its season with continued momentum. The Tigers can achieve that Friday night with a road win at EIWA rival Binghamton at 6 pm in the West Gym.
The match will be streamed live using the link atop this release.
Princeton, which had three wrestlers place at the Midlands last week, has performed exceptionally well during the tournament portion of its season. Dual matches have told a different story so far, as the Tigers are 2-4, with the last match being a disappointing home loss to Navy.
It's a new year, though, and it's certainly a perfect time to start a new streak in duals, especially with the Ivy League season looming after Finals.
Princeton is led by four nationally ranked wrestlers, including 13th-ranked Jonathan Schleifer (174), who became the Tigers' first Midlands finalist last week. Junior Brett Harner, also ranked 13th, has lost only twice this season at 197 and took third at Midlands, while senior Abram Ayala (17th) knocked off the second-ranked wrestler in the country on his way to the Midlands podium.
Binghamton is currently 4-2 this season and is making its home debut this season. The Bearcats are coming off a 20-16 win over Princeton at Dillon Gym last season.
