Harvard Rallies In Opener, Follows Through For EIVA Road Win

Senior Devin Stearns recorded 11 kills, while sophomore Billy Andrew posted four kills, four blocks and a pair of service aces, but the Princeton men's volleyball team was unable to finish off a strong start and fell 3-0 Friday night to the Harvard Crimson.
The loss drops Princeton to 2-3 in the EIVA, while Harvard improved to 4-1. The Tigers will have an opportunity to move back to the .500 mark Saturday afternoon when they host Sacred Heart.
Princeton created an opportunity to grab early momentum with leads of 15-9 and 18-13 in the opening set, but the Crimson made a late run and ultimately grabbed a 23-19 lead of its own. Princeton answered to tie the score and push the set to extra points, but they were never able to grab a set point of their own. Eventually, Harvard took the set 30-28, and it controlled the rest of the match for its seventh win of the season.
Sophomore Kendall Ratter recorded eight kills and two digs, while sophomore Mike Fuerst added six kills and three blocks. Junior Chris Kennedy had 28 assists, while freshman Corry Short came off the bench and added six digs.
