Women's Swim/Dive Will Honor Seniors Friday Afternoon In Final Ivy Tuneup
February 03, 2016 | Women's Swimming and Diving
The seniors on the Princeton women's swimming and diving team know they have one move big — really, really big — meet still to come at DeNunzio Pool, but the Class of 2016 will be honored Friday afternoon during its annual Senior Day meet at DeNunzio Pool.
Princeton, coming off a split last weekend during its HYP meet, will host Columbia Friday at 2 pm in DeNunzio Pool. It will be the final regular season competition for both teams, though it won't be the final time they face each other in Princeton. The 2016 Ivy League Championships will return to DeNunzio Pool Feb. 18-20, and it will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
While many eyes will be focused on Ivies, the Columbia-Princeton meet should not be overlooked, especially if recent history is any indication. Last year, the Tiger quartet of Mallory Remick, Elizabeth McDonald, Madelyn Veith and Nikki Larson set a Columbia pool record (4:24.91) to give Princeton a 151-149 comeback win over the Lions.
That result ended a three-year win streak for Columbia, which has won its last two regular season duals in DeNunzio Pool.
That leaves Columbia as the only team the Princeton Class of 2016 hasn't beaten at home in the regular season, and those seniors would love to head into Ivies with one more win on their side.
