WASHINGTON, D.C (3/17/16) - Princeton junior goalie Ellie DeGarmo is one of two women's lacrosse players in the nation added to the 2016 Tewaaraton Award Watch List Thursday.
DeGarmo joins senior Liz Bannantine and junior Olivia Hompe, who were both named to the list in February.
She was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 23 as she kickstarted the 2016 season with a win over No. 5 Virginia. DeGarmo made a career-high 13 saves against the Cavaliers and a .650 save percentage. She followed up with three more wins to help the Tigers start the season 4-0 with seven saves at Drexel, another career-high 13 in a win over Georgtown and 12 in the Ivy opener against Dartmouth. This past week she made six saves in losses at both No. 6 Notre Dame and No. 8 Penn State.
In the NCAA statistics, DeGarmo ranks fifth nationally in save percentage at .543, the best save percentage in the Ivy League. She also ranks eighth in the nation in saves per game, averaging 10.20 saves per game.
No. 7 Princeton returns to action on Saturday, March 26 when it travels to Harvard.
