Princeton Falls To No. 3 Yale In Yet Another 11-10 Game
March 26, 2016 | Men's Lacrosse
Final Stats
Princeton came into the game off a 10-goal loss. Yale came in unbeaten, ranked third in the country and leading the nation in scoring defense.
Final score? Of course it was 11-10. What else would it be?
The incredible run of one-goal Princeton-Yale men's lacrosse games continued Saturday afternoon, as the Tigers and Bulldogs again were separated by a single score. This time, it was Yale who came out on top, holding on for an 11-10 win over the Tigers. Sophomore Austin Sims had a career-high four goals for the Tigers.
The game marked the seventh-straight year - every year that Chris Bates has been the Princeton head coach - that the two have played a one-goal game in the regular season, and that doesn't even incude last year's Ivy League tournament championship game.
In fact, of Princeton's last 16 games, three have now been 11-10 games against the Bulldogs.
The win improved Yale to 7-0 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League. Princeton is now 2-5, 0-2.
The loss notwithstanding, Princeton could leave New Haven feeling good about two things. First, the Tigers rebounded strongly after last weekend's 20-10 loss to Penn.
Second, there is Yale's own recent history, and the Bulldogs have three times gone from 0-2 in the league to come all the way back and win the Ivy tournament.
GAME NOTES

The last chance ended when the Tigers were called for being offsides.
