Muliawan, Steffensen, Granville Earn Ivy League Honors

Senior Amanda Muliawan, sophomore Katrine Steffensen and head coach Laura Granville have all earned 2016 Ivy League honors, the league announced Wednesday.
Muliawan, a second-team All-Ivy League honoree, was named first-team All-Ivy in singles, her second career all-league honor. Going 19-13 overall in singles play, Muliawan was 12-8 in the dual-match season and 5-2 in the Ivy slate, playing at No. 1 singles all spring. Ranked 86th in the nation by the ITA in mid-February, she picked up three wins over ITA-ranked opponents between the fall and spring, defeating No. 36 Madison Westby of USC and No. 50 Rutuja Bhosale of Texas A&M in the fall and No. 74 Marika Cusick of Cornell in the spring.
Steffensen earned the first all-league recognition of her career, claiming a place on the second-team All-Ivy singles list. Accruing a 24-16 record between the fall and the spring in singles play, Steffensen went 11-11 in duals and 3-4 in Ivy League play, primarily playing at the No. 2 singles spot. Steffensen spent parts of January and February ranked No. 87 in the nation by the ITA.
Granville, in her fourth season leading the team, earned Ivy League Coach of the Year honors for the second straight year after winning the inaugural honor in 2015. The Tigers faced 14 ITA-ranked opponents this spring, including in each of their last four matches to close out the Ivy slate, winning five of their last six matches against ITA-ranked opponents.
Princeton finished the regular season 13-9 overall, 5-2 in the Ivy League and ranked 40th in the nation. Though the Tigers began the dual-match schedule in January ranked 43rd nationally, Princeton had fallen out of the ITA rankings in mid-February before re-emerging in the top 75 in late March and climbing all the way up to 40th while winning the outright Ivy League title for the third straight year and becoming the first team since Harvard from 2003-06 to win at least three unshared Ivy titles in a row.
The Tigers will learn their NCAA tournament destination May 3 in a 5 p.m. announcement on NCAA.com.
