April 7 TigerCast: Anya Gersoff, Katrine Steffensen & Kurt Holuba
April 07, 2016 | Football, General, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Tennis
While Anya Gersoff (women's lacrosse) and Katrine Steffensen (women's tennis) continue their chase for Ivy League titles this weekend, Kurt Holuba (football) is recovering from a season-ending injury. Each are guests on the latest edition of TigerCast.
Gersoff, also the starting goalie for the field hockey team over the last three seasons, has led the 11th-ranked women's lacrosse team to a 7-2 record, which includes three straight one-goal wins. After a month on the road, the Tigers will begin a four-game homestand Saturday afternoon against Yale. Gersoff talks about the team's success, as well as her own development as a field hockey goalie and lacrosse field player.
Steffensen is a sophomore who has moved to the No. 2 position on the women's tennis ladder. The 61st-ranked Tigers are second in the Ivy League with a 2-1 record, and they'll host two more nationally ranked teams this weekend in Dartmouth (Saturday) and Harvard (Sunday). Steffensen talks about handling the year-long schedule and the depth of talent in the Ivy League.
Holuba had 17 tackles, three for loss and two sacks in three games this season, but an injury suffered late in the third game cost him the rest of the season and knocked one of the biggest difference makers on the defensive side out of Ivy play. He talks about his rehab, the team's chip on its shoulder this spring and how the defense has looked this spring.
