Holmes, House to Represent U.S. at Zonal Championships in Panama
May 04, 2016 | General, Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
Fencers Katharine Holmes and Alex House will represent the U.S. at the Pan-American Championships in Panama June 21-26.
The event is the final chance for the U.S. to bolster its seeding ahead of the Olympic Games in August.
Holmes has qualified to represent the U.S. at the Olympics in both the individual and team épée competitions. She took the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons off from Princeton to pursue her Olympic bid, and she'll have one season left at Princeton when she returns.
House, also an épée and a junior this year, just finished his second All-America campaign, finishing fifth at the NCAA Championships. He was named the Most Outstanding Rookie at the Ivy round-robin in 2013 and is a first-team All-Ivy League honoree.
