Princeton to Play UMass In First Round of NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS (5/8/16) - The Princeton women's lacrosse team will play Massachusetts in the first round of the NCAA Tournament it was announced on Sunday evening by the selection committee.
The game will take place on Friday, May 13 at 4 p.m., at Schoellkopf Field in Ithaca, N.Y., the site of the No. 8 seed Cornell. The winner will play the winner of the Cornell vs. Canisius game, which will also take place at 7 p.m. That second round game will take place on Sunday, May 15 at Cornell at noon.
This will be the first meeting between Princeton and Massachusetts. The Minutemen earned their way into the tournament with the automatic bid from the Atlantic 10 and a 18-1 overall record. This is the eighth consecutive appearance for UMass in the NCAA Tournament.
Princeton won its 12th Ivy League title this season and is 11-5 overall. The Tigers have been ranked nationally all season long, reaching as high as No. 6 and have been as high as No. 4 in the NCAA RPI.
