DeGarmo Earns First Ivy League Weekly Honor of 2017

Princeton senior Ellie DeGarmo has been named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for the opening weekend of Ivy League lacrosse action.
DeGarmo, made 12 saves as the Tigers opened the 2017 season with a 19-3 win over Temple. She held Temple, which entered the weekend scoring 15.5 goals per game and a 2-0 record, to just three goals. Her 12 saves and three goals allowed gave her a 80.0 save percentage for the weekend. Additionally, DeGarmo claimed three ground balls.
The success helped move Princeton into 12th place in the first IWLCA national poll, moving up one place from its preseason ranking of No. 13.
The Tigers travel to Virginia, a squad receiving votes, on Saturday, Feb. 25 for a 1 p.m., game.
