Sacred Heart Tops Princeton To Conclude Wild February In The EIVA
February 25, 2017 | Men's Volleyball
February may not have ended the way Princeton would have liked, but the Tigers leave the month knowing they are right in the mix in a wild EIVA season.
The Tigers concluded a 4-2 start in league play with a 3-1 road loss at Sacred Heart Saturday afternoon. Freshman Parker Dixon had 14 kills for the Tigers, while junior Kendall Ratter added 12 kills and five digs, but those would not be enough to hold off a Pioneer offense that hit over .500 in two of the three final sets.
Junior Oboh added eight kills and three blocks from one middle position, while George Huhmann added seven kills and five blocks from the other. Senior setter Jonah May recorded 39 assists, while sophomore libero Corry Short led the Tigers with eight digs.
Six teams in the EIVA leave February with .500-or-better records; Penn State leads the league with a 6-2 EIVA mark, while both Princeton and Sacred Heart are 4-2. The Tigers will host a pair of matches against Charleston this coming weekend at Dillon Gym.
