Three Tigers Named All-Ivy League in Men's Hockey

PRINCETON, N.J. (3/3/17) - Three sophomores on the Princeton men's hockey team were named All-Ivy League it was announced by the Ivy League office.
Defender Josh Teves was named first-team All-Ivy League, forward Max Véronneau was named to the second team and forward Ryan Kuffner was named third team.
Teves led all Princeton defenders in scoring with 22 points on four goals and 18 assists in 29 games. In Ivy League contests, he had seven points in 10 games. Fifteen of his 22 points came on the power play. Teves scored game winning goals over No. 18 St. Lawrence and Brown, and had the game-winning assists in wins over No. 10 Bemidji, Rensselaer, No. 7 Quinnipiac and Yale. During Princeton's undefeated run between Jan. 28 and Feb. 11, Teves had seven points during those five games. Defensively Teves blocked 42 shots and was called for just four penalties.
Véronneau led the team in scoring virtually all season, and currently has 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points. He was named the ECAC Player of the Week twice in December en route to earning HCA National Player of the Month honors. He net six goals and 10 assists as the Tigers went on a 5-2 run with three wins over ranked teams, as he led the country in scoring two straight weeks. Véronneau was twice named the NCAA Star of the Week, taking third star on Dec. 6 and first star on Dec. 13.
Kuffner, Véronneau's linemate also has 31 points with a team-high 16 goals and 15 helpers. He scored the game-winning goal over No. 7 Quinnipiac during one of Princeton's runs in December as the squad went 5-0. Kuffner scored twice in a win at No. 10 Bemidji, twice against No. 19 Minnesota State, two in a 4-2 win over Yale. His best game was a three-point game in a 6-5 overtime win over Rensselaer.
As the No. 7 seed in the ECAC Hockey Tournament, the Tigers host No. 10 seed Colgate in a best-of-three ECAC Hockey First-Round series this weekend at Hobey Baker Rink.
