March 04, 2017 | Men's Volleyball
It may not have gone as expected, but the Princeton men's volleyball team moved into a first-place tie with Penn State in the EIVA Saturday afternoon by fighting off a gritty Charleston squad 3-2 in Dillon Gym. The victory puts the Tigers at 6-2 in EIVA play, which ties them with Penn State.
Freshman Parker Dixon continued his strong play with 16 kills, but it was the play of junior Mike Fuerst that helped the Tigers fight off Charleston. He recorded 13 kills, four digs and three blocks in the 25-15, 25-20, 22-25, 18-25, 15-11 win.
Middles George Huhmann and Junior Oboh both recorded nine kills, though Oboh added three service aces with his three blocks. Freshman Greg Luck added eight kills, while senior Jonah May added 48 assists.
Princeton will continue EIVA play Friday night at NJIT, and then will open a four-match non-league stretch with a home match Saturday night against Coker.
