Thompson '05 Earns Induction to U.S. Fencing Hall of Fame

Princeton alumnus Soren Thompson '05, a two-time Olympian, will be inducted into the U.S. Fencing Hall of Fame next year, USA Fencing has announced.
Thompson won the 2001 NCAA épée title and was a four-time first-team All-Ivy League and four-time All-America honoree.
At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Thompson won two matches to make the épée quarterfinals, becoming the first American to reach the quarters since 1956. He returned to the Games in 2012 in London. He was also member of the U.S. team that won the 2012 Senior World Championship title, the first the Americans had won. He also won individual gold at the 2011 U.S. National Championships as well as the 2011 and 2012 Pan American Championships.
