Princeton Earns #5 Seed and First-Round Bye in NCAA Tournament

Princeton earns the No. 5 seed in the 2017 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament and receives a first-round bye. The Tigers will host the first two rounds next weekend, May 12 & 14 at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium.
Cornell and Notre Dame will face each other in the first round on Friday, May 12 at 7 p.m., in Princeton. The winner will take on Princeton on Sunday, May 14 at 1 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children (12-and-under) or college students with valid student ID. Tickets will be available on game days at Class of 1952 Stadium, or can be purchased online on the Princeton Athletics Ticketing page.
As Princeton makes its 25th NCAA appearance, this will be the first time the Tigers have hosted an NCAA game since 2009.
The Tigers won the the Ivy League Tournament Championship this afternoon, defeating Cornell 12-9 for their third title. Princeton is 14-3 overall and ranked No. 6 in the latest IWLCA poll.
Princeton is 2-0 against the Big Red this season, after topping them 12-11 in double overtime in the regular season in addition to today's win in the tournament championship. The Tigers defeated Notre Dame on March 11 when the Irish were ranked No. 8, by a 14-8 score in Princeton.
