Hompe & Andersen Set for 2017 FIL World Cup

In just weeks Princeton's Olivia Hompe and Nonie Anderson will compete at the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Rathbones World Cup. Hompe will represent England, while Andersen will be with Ireland.
The World Cup will be held July 12-22 in Guilford, England with 24 nations competing for the cup.
Team England kicks off play in Pool A on July 12 taking on Wales. They will face Scotland on July 14, the US on July 15, Australia on July 16 and Canada on July 18.
Team Ireland is in Pool E. They face New Zealand in the opener on July 13 and Colombia on July 15 and Sweden on July 16.
A finalist for the 2017 Tewaaraton Trophy, Hompe was named both a first-team All-America and the Ivy League Attacker of the Year. Hompe is a three-time unanimous first-team all-league honoree and three-time all-tournament team pick. This season she lead the nation in goals and was third in points per game, setting the Princeton single-season record for points with 110 and goals with 75. She graduates as Princeton's all-time leading scorer and goal-scorer with 285 points on 198 goals and 87 assists.
Andersen started in 18 games on defense for the Tigers this season. She scored two goals and added one assist, all in transition. She picked up 22 ground balls, caused 11 turnovers and won five draws. She competed at the 2015 European Women's Lacrosse Championship with Ireland, with the squad taking fifth place.
