Bret Lundgaard Named To USA Swimming Coaching Staff
September 13, 2017 | Women's Swimming and Diving
"It's an honor to be recognized as a US National Team coach," Lundgaard said. "The opportunity to partner with athletes that are striving to be the world's best is a privilege, and we look forward to beginning that process at Princeton."
Lundgaard, who came to Princeton after a strong five-year stint with the staff at Tennessee, is no stranger to coaching swimmers competing at the highest levels of national and international swimming. He was responsible for all training components for 2016 U.S. Olympian Molly Hannis, a four-year member of the US National Team who competed in Rio in the 200 breaststroke. Hannis was part of a 2013 Tennessee squad that placed third at the NCAA Championships, the best finish in program history.
Lundgaard completed his coaching staff for the 2017-18 season recently; volunteer assistant Nick Daly comes to Princeton from the University of Chicago, and he will join Robin Boughey on the Princeton staff.
Princeton opens its season Nov. 10-11 at the Virginia Invitational.
