Sabrina King hoped to see her All-Ivy League outside hitter Devon Peterkin play a match before Ivy play began, and she was able to do so during the opening match of the American Volleyball Challenge. The sophomore came off the bench and recorded six kills during a 3-1 loss to host American University Friday night in Washington, D.C.

Princeton, which will play both Howard (12 pm) and Iowa (5 pm) Saturday, drew a 1-1 tie with the Eagles before falling in the final two sets during a 25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 25-17 loss.

Reigning Ivy League Player of the Week Natasha Skov led Princeton with 14 kills, while classmate Maggie O'Connell recorded 12 kills in the four-set loss. Junior Nnenna Ibe hit .600 with seven kills and six blocks, while Jessie Harris posted 45 kills and 12 digs, during the opening match of the weekend.

Saturday represents the final day of nonleague play for the Tigers, who open Ivy play next Friday at home against Penn, a match that will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network. The Tigers are the two-time defending Ivy League champion.
