Regan Barney, Joanna Curry Share Suburban Transit Athlete Of The Week Honors

Both Regan Barney and Joanna Curry left Harvard last weekend with individual Ivy League swimming championships, and both were also honored as the Suburban Transit/GoPrincetonTigers.com Athletes of the Week.

Barney rallied from a deficit midway through Friday's 400 IM final with a strong 100 fly, and then pulled away from the field in the 100 free portion of the race to win the Ivy League title in 4:13.48, the third-fastest time in Princeton history. Barney claimed Princeton's first 400 IM Ivy League title since 2010, when Alicia Aemisegger won her second of back-to-back titles in the event.

The next night belonged to Curry, who posted the second-fastest time in Princeton history in the 200 fly prelims (1:57.25). She took control of the championship race from the start and claimed her first individual Ivy title in 1:57.95. It was Princeton's first 200 fly title at Ivies since Monika Friedman won the 2008 crown.
