Kuffner Named ECAC Hockey Player of the Month
February 28, 2018 | Men's Ice Hockey
Junior Ryan Kuffner had a 16-point month with 10 goals and six assists in eight games. He recorded two hat tricks, had a +7 on-ice rating, won 64.7 percent of his face offs and blocked four shots. Kuffner had a point in every single game during the month, and stretched that into January, as he currently rides a 10-game point scoring streak.
He began the month with a hat trick including the game winner in overtime and one assist in a 5-4 win over St. Lawrence. The next day he had a goal and the assist on the game winner over No. 3 Clarkson. At Brown and Yale he chipped in one assist in each game. Kuffner scored another hat trick, again with the game winner in a 7-2 win over RPI and scored the lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Union. He capped the month with a goal in a 3-3 draw at No. 10 Clarkson and then had a three-point game at St. Lawrence.
Princeton hosts Brown this weekend in the ECAC Hockey first-round series.
