Princeton Sweeps Ivy League Weekly Honors

The Princeton women's lacrosse team swept the Ivy League's weekly honors with junior midfielder Elizabeth George and freshman goalie Sam Fish capturing Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. The Tigers went 2-0 during the week with a dominating 21-8 win over No. 10 Penn followed by a win at Columbia to clinch their fifth consecutive Ivy League title and hosting rights for the Ivy League Tournament.
George led the Princeton offense with a 12-point week, scoring 11 goals, while winning 11 draw controls. Also named the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week, presented by Suburban Transit, George had five goals and seven draws in the win Penn on Wednesday. On Saturday she had a career-high six goals against the Lions and tacked on four draws.
Fish posted a .467 save percentage and 12.00 goals against average in a pair of victories. She allowed just eight goals on 28 shots against Penn, while making nine saves. In arguably the most important Ivy League game of the season, the freshman compiled a .529 save percentage and a 8.00 goals-against average. On Saturday she earned her seventh win of the season in a Ivy League title-clinching win at Columbia.
