Kuffner & Véronneau Capture All-America Honors

Juniors Max Véronneau and Ryan Kuffner were both named CCM/AHCA Hockey All-Americans, it was announced this afternoon by the America Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).
"It's great to see both players recognized for an outstanding season that helped propel this program to an ECAC Hockey Championship and NCAA Tournament berth," Princeton head coach Ron Fogarty said. "Our staff is excited for next season with these two players returning along with an experienced core."
Tabbed on Twitter as the greatest duo since Batman and Robin, Véronneau and Kuffner have been linemates for the last three years and played an additional three years in juniors with of the CCHL. The chemistry was most notable this season with the pair dominating the national statistics as Princeton won the ECAC Championship and reached the NCAA Tournament. With the help of Veronneay and Kuffner, this season's team set the program record for points (368), goals (131) and assists (237) in a season – just three years after a program had the program record for fewest goals in a season.
Véronneau led Princeton in scoring with 55 points on 17 goals and 38 assists in 36 games. He finished second in the nation in points per game, averaging 1.53 ppg and led the nation in assists per game with 1.06 apg. A first-team All-ECAC selection, Véronneau led the league in in scoring with 37 points in 22 conference games. Véronneau currently has 107 career points, which ranks him 10th all-time at Princeton. He erased a 58-year program record for points in a season with 55, surpassing John McBride's 54 from 1959-60. With 68 career assists he sits seventh all time and also holds the record for helpers in a season with 38, tying John Messuri's mark from 1988-89.
Kuffner finished his junior year with 52 points, scoring 29 goals and 23 assists. He took second in the nation in goals per game, averaging 0.81 gpg and was fifth in points per game, averaging 1.44 ppg. Despite scoring more goals than any other player in the ECAC, he was named a second-team all-ECAC selection and was second in the league in overall scoring with 32 points in 33 games. Kuffner currently sits ninth on the all-time Princeton career scoring list with 108 points on 53 goals and 55 assists. His 29 goals this season is a Princeton record, as he surpassed Jeff Halpern's 28 from 1997-98 and he is tied for ninth in goals all-time. The ECAC Hockey Player of the Month for February with 16 points in 10 games also had a 13-game point scoring streak and a seven-game goal scoring streak this season.
