Princeton to Face Syracuse in First Round of NCAA Tournament

The 2018 Ivy League champion Princeton will play Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament it was announced Sunday evening by the selection committee.

The game will take place at 4 p.m., Friday, May 11 at the site of the No. 4 seed Boston College. The winner will play the Eagles on Sunday, May 13 at 1 p.m.

Princeton and Syracuse will be meeting for the second time this season. It was a one-goal game going in the favor of the Orange, 17-16, during the regular season - played in Princeton on March 29. The teams first met last year, with the Tigers winning a 16-11 game. This will be the first time the teams will meet in the NCAA Tournament.

Three-time national champion Princeton is making its 26th NCAA appearance. The Tigers earned the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after a 13-10 win over Penn in the tournament championship this afternoon. Princeton is also the regular season Ivy League champion with a 12-5 overall record.
