No. 13 Princeton Picks Up Third Straight Win At Navy Open

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The No. 13 Princeton Tigers wrapped up the Navy Open with a 15-9 victory over the host Midshipmen on Sunday morning.

The Tigers ran out with 10 goals in the first half, taking a seven-goal advantage into the break.
Navy closed within three, 11-8, after three frames, but was held to just one goal in the fourth quarter.

Princeton found itself trailing (2-1) in the first quarter, but rolled off four straight tallies to take a 5-2 lead after eight minutes. This time it was Navy to go on a run, posting three consecutive goals to tie the contest at 5-all with 5:58 to go in the first half. Princeton's offense kept pushing along with a 5-0 spurt to take a 10-5 halftime advantage. The Tigers scored the first goal of the second half, but Navy cut its deficit to three (11-8) with a goal just before the buzzer. The Tigers' defense shut it down in the fourth quarter, allowing just one goal to take home a 15-9 victory.
