Tigers Split Opening Day of Matches in Milwaukee

The four members of the Princeton women's tennis team competing in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic split their matches Thursday, with Stephanie Schrage and Clare McKee advancing on while Nicole Kalhorn and Brianna Shvets will play in the consolation draw.
Schrage, who beat VCU's Paola Delgado 7-5, 7-5, will face either Purdue's Seira Shimizu or San Diego's Nicole Anderson in the second round, and Clare McKee, who beat Wisconsin's Anna Makarova 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(1), will face Oklahoma's Martina Cappuro in the second round. Kalhorn, who lost 6-4, 6-2 to Syracuse's Miranda Ramirez, will meet Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Mayya Perova in a consolation match while Brianna Shvets, who lost 3-6, 6-0, 7-5 to Arkansas' Jackie Carr, will face Cincinnati's Ioana Guna in a consolation match.
Doubles play will begin Friday, a change from the original schedule. In the first round, Schrage and McKee will meet Paola Diaz-Delgado and Anna Rasmussen of VCU, and Shvets and Kalhorn will meet San Diego's Nicole Anderson and Daniela Morales.
