PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears took a close battle over the No. 18 Princeton Tigers, 10-8, at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
Brown posted the final two tallies of the first quarter to take a 2-1 advantage after eight minutes. Both squads exchanged goals with neither team leading by more than a goal in the second stanza. The Bears scored right before the end of the quarter to take a 5-4 advantage.
The home squad took the first two-goal lead of the contest at the 7:07 mark of the third stanza, but Casey Conrad countered with a tally less than a minute later. Logan MacDonell evened the match at 6-all, but Brown held a 7-6 lead as the fourth frame got underway.
Tied at 8-all, Cole Atwell's tally with 48 seconds to go proved to be the game-winner. Brown added an empty netter later in the game. These two conference foes combined for seven ties in the matchup.
