Women's Lacrosse Ranked No. 6 In Preseason Polls

PRINCETON – Ahead of the 2020 season, the Princeton University women's lacrosse team has been ranked No. 6 in both the Nike/US Lacrosse Preseason Top-20 and the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Top-20.
The highest-ranked Ivy League team in either Preseason Top-20, Princeton is coming off a 2019 season where the Tigers won both an Ivy League regular season championship and the Ivy League Tournament title as well as a run to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
Princeton has won six consecutive Ivy League titles dating back to 2014, and its march to the NCAA quarterfinals last season included an 11-game win streak.
Kyla Sears, a two-time IWLCA second-team All-American on attack, leads the group of returners for Hall of Fame head coach Chris Sailer. Sears has earned All-American honors in each of her first two seasons at Princeton and enters her junior season as the only player in program history to earn first-team All-Ivy honors in each of her first two seasons.
Sears was also a third-team Inside Lacrosse All-American, joined by classmates Marge Donovan and Sam Fish who were named honorable mention All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse.
The Tigers will battle five teams in the Nike/US Lacrosse Preseason Top-20 during the 2020 season in No. 3 Maryland, No. 7 Virginia, No. 9 Penn, No. 12 Stony Brook and No. 17 Florida. In addition, Dartmouth and Jacksonville are 2020 Princeton opponents who received votes in the Preseason Top-20. According to Inside Lacrosse, Princeton opponents with a national ranking are No. 2 Maryland, No. 8 Virginia, No. 12 Stony Brook, No. 13 Florida and No. 15 Penn.
The Tigers open 2020 at Temple on February 20 with the home opener set for February 22 against the No. 7 Cavaliers at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium.
