Kuffner Named a Finalist for ECAC Hockey Player of the Year

Ryan Kuffner has been named a finalist for the 2019 ECAC Hockey Player of the Year award it was announced today by the league.
Though Kuffner ended his collegiate career on Saturday, he currently leads the nation in scoring as he averaged 1.42 points per game this season. In 31 games he scored 22 goals and 22 assists and is second in the nation in goals per game for the second consecutive season. A second-team All-America selection a year ago, Kuffner helped Princeton win the ECAC Hockey Championship and a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
With 152 career points, Kuffner is second on the all-time Princeton scoring list with 77 assists and a program record 75 goals. He also owns the records for goals in a single season with 29 from last year when he totaled 52 points to earn second-team All-ECAC Hockey honors. He was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team has a freshman and has been named to the ECAC All-Academic team all three years.
Kuffner reported to the Detroit Red Wings for pre-game skate this morning after signing a two-year entry-level contract with the organization on Tuesday.
Other finalists for Player of the Year include Adam Fox (Harvard) and Nico Sturm (Clarkson). The 2018-19 ECAC Hockey Player of the Year award will be announced on Thursday, March 21.
