George Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week

Senior Elizabeth George had a 10-point week to be named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week the league in women's lacrosse.

George scored nine goals and one assist, and was the Tigers' primary on draw controls, winning 10. She caused three turnovers and picked up two ground balls. Her shooting percentage was 92.3 percent as she scored on nine of her 12 shots on goal and put 12 of her 13 shots on frame.

Princeton defeated No. 8 Penn State 21-10, the most goals scored by the Tigers in series history and matching the widest margin of victory on the series. George had five goals, one assist, won eight draws, caused two turnovers and had one ground ball. In the Ivy League opener George had four goals, won two draws, caused one turnover and added one ground ball as the Princeton ran by Columbia, 19-1.

The Tigers have moved to No. 9 in the IWLCA national poll after a 2-0 week.

Princeton hosts No. 18 Stony Brook on Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m., on Sherrerd Field.
