Fish and Sears Sweep Ivy League Player of the Week Honors

Kyla Sears and Sam Fish swept the Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards this week capturing offensive and defensive honors. The Tigers went 2-0 with a 15-6 win over Villanova before handing Dartmouth its first Ivy League loss of the season ina 14-12 decision.
Sears had a 13-point week averaging 6.5 points per game, scoring six goals and seven assists, adding two caused turnovers and two ground balls. On Tuesday Sears scored four goals and had two assists and on Saturday had a seven-point outing with two goals and five assists at Dartmouth. She was key to Princeton earning the win late in the game when she maintained possession with a loose ball and threaded a pass to Kathryn Hallett for the eventual game-winning goal. She then set up Tess D'Orsi's goal to seal the win.
Sam Fish went 2-0 this week with two incredible performances in goal making 24 total saves. On Tuesday, she made 13 saves in a dominating performance against Villanova. On Saturday, she stopped 11 shots including the last three shots of the game in a back-and-forth battle that saw the Tigers take the critical conference victory. With the game tied 12-12 she stopped three shots in the final seven minutes as Princeton scored twice on the other end. She added four ground balls and caused one turnover.
Princeton hosts Loyola in the final non-conference game of the regular-season on Wednesday, April 10. Game time is at 7 p.m., on Sherrerd Field and admission is free.
