Tigers Wrap Ivy Title Season as NCAA Regional Closes

The score dropped each day at the NCAA Athens Regional for the Princeton men's golf team as the Tigers closed their season Wednesday in Georgia.
Host Georgia won the regional at -8 by seven shots over Duke (-1) with Vanderbilt (+1), SMU (+16) and Liberty (+18) rounding out the five teams moving on to the NCAA Championships May 24-29 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. Western Kentucky's Billy Tom Sargent earned the lone individual bid to the NCAA finals as the top player not on one of the advancing five teams, defeating Nevada's Stephen Osborne on the third playoff hole after each stood at -3 and tied for fourth after 54 holes.
Jake Mayer finished Princeton's first NCAA Regional since 2013 as the top Tiger, tying for 46th at +11.
The NCAA Regional concluded a season that saw the Tigers close the fall with a win at the Georgetown Hoya Invitational and win the Ivy League Championship for the first time since 2013 and for the 30th time in program history.
