No. 14 Princeton Finishes MPSF Invitational With Tight Loss To Pomona-Pitzer

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The No. 14 Princeton Tigers wrapped up the MPSF Invitational with an 8-5 loss to the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens on Sunday afternoon at the Burns Aquatic Center.
A goal for the Sagehens right before the end of the first quarter put them ahead, 2-1. Yurian Quinones tied the contest 42 seconds into the second stanza. The game was even at 3-all before a tally from Pomona-Pitzer with 23 seconds left set the non-conference matchup at 4-3 at the intermission.
After head coach Dustin Litvak's squad registered its fourth goal of the contest, the Sagehens put up the next three tallies to go in front, 7-4, with 7:41 remaining. Quinones snagged his second goal of the game at the 3:07 mark, but Princeton couldn't inch closer.
The Tigers finished the MPSF Invitational in 14th place. Princeton welcomes Harvard, Brown and MIT to DeNuznio Pool next weekend (Oct. 5-6) for the start of Northeast Water Polo Conference play.
