Three Women's Lacrosse Players Named To Tewaaraton Watch List

PRINCETON – A trio of Princeton University women's lacrosse players have been named to the initial Watch List for the 2020 Tewaaraton Award as announced on Thursday night.
Tess D'Orsi, Sam Fish and Kyla Sears were among the 50 women's lacrosse players chosen for consideration for national player of the year by the Tewaaraton committee.
All three players return to the Watch List for the second year in a row after posting stellar 2019 seasons which helped the Tigers win both Ivy League regular season and tournament championships and reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
"We are fortunate to have such depth in talent and leadership that three of our players are on the Tewaaraton Watch List," said head coach Chris Sailer. "Tess, Sam and Kyla have produced since Day One on campus and are among the nation's elite at their positions. They continue to serve as great representatives of Princeton Women's Lacrosse and we can't wait to see what they have in store for 2020 starting this weekend."
A three-time All-Ivy League selection, Tess D'Orsi was named both second-team All-Ivy and second-team All-Region last year for Princeton. She found the back of the net an Ivy League-leading 64 times while dishing 14 assists for a career-high 80 points while also contributing 29 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.
Junior goalkeeper Sam Fish was named 2019 Ivy League Goalkeeper of the Year and first-team All-Ivy while garnering honorable mention Inside Lacrosse All-American honors in the cage for the Tigers. She posted. 16-4 record, including a 7-3 record against ranked opponents while finishing the season No. 6 in the nation in saves (192) and No. 16 in the country in save percentage (.482).
Kyla Sears was named second-team IWLCA All-American for the second year in a row in 2019, adding a second-straight first-team All-Ivy selection to her accolades. Last year, she ranked No. 16 in the country with 95 points, and No. 18 in Division I with 40 assists.
