No. 6 Princeton Beats Yale to Tie Program Wins Record as Postseason Awaits
February 22, 2020 | Women's Ice Hockey
Saturday's 4-1 win over Yale was Princeton's 22nd victory of the season, tying the 2015-16 team for the most wins in program history. The Tigers, seeded second in the ECAC playoffs, can break that record when they host seventh-seeded Quinnipiac next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday if necessary at 3 p.m. each day. Tickets are available here.
Saturday was also Senior Day at Baker Rink, and Carly Bullock, who had a hat trick Friday night, had another big game Saturday with an assist on Sarah Fillier's goal to get the Tigers on the board seven-plus minutes into the game, and a goal each in the second and third period as Princeton widened its lead.
The three-point game put her at 150 points for her career, making her the ninth player in program history to reach that number.
Princeton opened the scoring just 14 seconds after Yale scored seven minutes into the game. Off the draw following the Yale goal and as the Bulldogs attempted to clear the puck from their attacking zone, Bullock intercepted a pass and found Fillier headed up the ice along side her for the finish.
