One of the all-time greats in Princeton University men's hockey was recognized as an elite talent among ECAC hockey players as Ryan Kuffner '19 was named to the ECAC's All-Decade Team for 2010-19.
A four-year standout and ECAC champion for the Tigers, Kuffner was a two-time All-American who garnered first-team All-American honors for the 2018 -19 season after earning second-team All-American distinction in 2017-18.
Princeton's all-time leader in career goals with 75, Kuffner graduated ranked No. 2 all-time in points with 152 -- most by a Tiger since 1989. His 77 career assists are also in the Top-10, ranking No. 7 among Princeton hockey players. Over his four seasons skating for the Tigers, he led the team in scoring three times and finished second the lone time he didn't pace the program.
No player to ever don a Princeton jersey skated in more games than Kuffner who appeared in 152 contests for the Tigers. A two-time All-ECAC selection, Kuffner was first-team All-ECAC in addition to first-team All-Ivy League in 2018-19 on his way to earning a nomination for the Hobey Baker Award.
Upon graduation, Kuffner signed with the Detroit Red Wings where he appeared in 10 games at the conclusion of the 2018-19 season. He had six goals and nine points this season over 32 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League before the Edmonton Oilers traded for him during the NHL'Â s Trade Deadline on February 24.
