Men's Hockey Announces 2019-20 Team Awards

With the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, Princeton Men's Hockey has announced its annual Team Award recipients for their performances and dedication to Princeton Hockey over the season.

The Blackwell Trophy | Derek Topatigh '20
In memory of William Bayard Blackwell '32, The Blackwell Trophy is awarded annually to that member of the Princeton varsity hockey team who in play, sportsmanship and influence has contributed most to the sport.

The Richard F. Vaughan Cup | Derek Topatigh '20
The Richard F. Vaughan Cup is presented annually to that varsity player who best exemplifies perseverance and dedication to Princeton Hockey.

Derek Topatigh served as team captain during the 2019-20 season and finished with a career-high 14 points in five goals and nine assists. All five of his goals this season were power-play goals, ranking him fifth amongst defensemen in the country in PPGs. Topatigh will graduate with 129 career games played and 43 career points (15G, 28A)

The Hobey Baker Trophy | Pito Walton '23
In memory of Hobart Amory Baker, Class of 1914, the Hobey Baker Trophy is awarded annually to that Princeton freshman hockey player who, among his classmates, in play, sportsmanship and influence has contributed most to the sport.

Pito Walton appeared in 25 games during his rookie season, and finished with six points on a goal and five assists while adding 30 blocked shots.

The 1941 Championship Trophy | Neil Doef '21
The 1941 Championship Trophy is awarded annually to that varsity player who best reflected the winning spirit of the 1941 championship team and in doing so was an inspiration to his teammates.

A repeat selection for the 1941 Championship Trophy, Neil Doef continues to be an uplifting presence with the Tigers despite a career-ending spinal cord injury suffered before arriving on Princeton's campus.

The Tucker Ironman Award | Joey Fallon '20
The Tucker Ironman Award is named in memory of Thomas J. Tucker '95 and presented to the Tiger who best exemplifies the "Ironman Spirit" through his pre-season commitment to conditioning and overall physical endurance.

Joey Fallon played in all 31 games this season, establishing a new career-high in games played. He will graduate with 91 career games played as a Princeton Tiger and seven career points (3G, 4A).
