Women's Tennis Starts UGA Fall Invitational on High Note

ATHENS, Ga. – The Princeton University women's tennis team got off to a strong start at the University of Georgia Fall Invitational, winning 12 matches Friday.

In doubles, the duo of juniors Daria Frayman and Grace Joyce overcame Georgia's No. 42 Guillermina Grant and Ania Hertel 8-6, along with UCF's Marie Mattel and Nandini Sharma, 8-3. Senior Brianna Shvets and sophomore Nathalie Rodilosso earned an 8-6 victory over Morgan Coppoc and Lea Ma of UGA, along with an 8-3 triumph over Anique Kattenburg and Jaleesa Leslie of UCF. The tandem of senior Stephanie Schrage and sophomore Neha Velaga outlasted UGA's Alee Clayton and Mai Nirundorn 8-7(3), while freshman duo Leena Benetto and Victoria Hu took down Anique Kattenburg and Jaleesa Leslie of UCF, 8-4.

In singles, Victoria Hu added another ranked win as she defeated No. 80 Evgeniya Levashova UCF, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4, while Frayman overcome Hertel of UGA 6-0, 6-1, and Joyce downed UCF's Kattenburg, 6-0, 6-1. Senior Stephanie Schrage downed UGA's Nirundorn 6-2, 6-4, senior Nathalie Rodilosso earned a 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 victory over Alee Clayton of Georgia, and No. 102 Shvets outlasted Marie Mattell of UCF, 6-1, 1-6, 6-2.
