Four More From Women's Tennis Earn Spot at ITA Super Regional

PHILADELPHIA – The Princeton University women's tennis team ended the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeastern Regional Championship on a high note Sunday at the Clay Hamlin Tennis Center in Penn Park.
The Tigers won five out of five matches, and four singles players and one doubles duo earned a spot at the ITA Super Regional; senior Stephanie Schrage, sophomore Maia Sung, sophomore Neha Velaga and freshman Leena Bennetto in singles, along with Sung and Bennetto in doubles. They will join senior No 101. Brianna Shvets, junior Daria Frayman, sophomore Zoe Howard and freshman Victoria Hu in singles along with Frayman and junior Grace Joyce in doubles as Tigers confirmed to play at the ITA Super Regional beginning on Friday, October 15.
In doubles, Sung and Bennetto overcame Eileen Wang and Gavriella Smith of Pennsylvania, 8-2.
In singles, Schrage earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Hsin Shih of Buffalo and Sung defeated Vineetha Mummadi of Temple, 6-1, 6-2. Bennetto took down Temple's Ting-Chieh Wei, 6-2, 6-2, and Velaga had a 6-4, 6-3 win Miyuka Kimoto of Syracuse.
