Princeton Rolls Past Columbia In Straight Sets
November 12, 2021 | Women's Volleyball
From the time warmups began in an empty Dillon Gym until Elena Montgomery ended the match against Columbia with her ninth kill of the night, it was crystal clear that the Princeton women's volleyball team was determined to enjoy every minute of the final weekend of the season.
It was a dance party before the match began, and it the party continued through three dominant sets, as Princeton rolled past the Lions 25-12, 25-14, 25-14 in barely over an hour. The win improved the Tigers to 9-4 in the Ivy League, in second place heading into the final match of the year Saturday night against Cornell.
Avery Luoma led Princeton with 11 kills. Linsey Kelly had a match-best 29 assists, and her 12 digs were one fewer than the 13 that Cameron Dames had.
The match against Cornell will be senior night, as the Tigers will recognize their two seniors, Grace Klepetka and Julia Schner.

With the ivy title clinched last weekend by Brown, Princeton found itself playing for second and knowing that this would be the end of the season. The Tigers were loose and determined all evening, never letting Columbia get into a groove at any point. Even in the middle of the second game, when Columbia led 11-10 at one point, Princeton quickly turned that set into a runaway as well.S3: Princeton 3, Columbia 1 - Julia Schner smashes it home for the Tigers! pic.twitter.com/h2Ou8f5pKe
