EIVA Announces 2022 Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) announced its 2022 preseason poll Tuesday afternoon, and the Princeton University men's volleyball team were selected fourth out of nine teams.
The Tigers garnered 56 points on route to being chosen fourth.
"As nice as it is to be ranked high in the pre-season poll, our focus is on trying to be ranked high in the post season poll," said Head Coach Sam Shweisky. "We are so thankful to be back playing this year and can't wait to get started!"
Additionally, seniors Joe Kelly and Jerod Nelsen were named as Players to Watch. Kelly is a two-time Second Team All-EIVA honoree, who was named to the EIVA All-Tournament Team and led the conference in assists in 2019. Kelly was also named to the All-EIVA Academic Team in 2020.
Nelsen was named Second Team All-EIVA in 2020, and was honored as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Player of the Week on Feb. 4, 2020. Nelsen also picked up a pair of EIVA Player of the Week awards in 2020, was selected to the All-EIVA Academic Team in 2021 and 2020.
Princeton opens its season in Los Angeles, California, on Wednesday, January 12 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT against the University of Southern California.
