Women's Swimming & Diving Continues Big Al Invitational

Princeton, N.J. – After two days of competition at the Big Al Invitation, the Princeton University women's swimming and diving team is in second place with 548 points, trailing University of Utah (678 points).
The Tigers dominated in the 400 IM, going one-two-three. Ellie Marquardt touched first with a NCAA B cut qualifying time of 4:13.99, followed by Emily Appleton (4:18.41) in second and Liza Whitmire (4:19.77) in third. Marquardt's time moves her into 5th all-time on the 400 IM leader board while Emily Appleton's time places her 10th all-time.
Nikki Venema also secured an NCAA B cut qualifying time, going 52.64 en route to a first place finish in the 100 butterfly. Venema's time moves her into 2nd all-time on the 100 fly leader board.
Finally, the relay team of Alexa Pappas, Vivian Wang, Nikki Venema, Christina Bradley (1:38.96) secured first place in the 200 medley-relay.
In the preliminaries for the 100 back, Alexa Pappas moved into 5th all-time after going 54.67, while Margaux McDonald moved into 10th all-time after she went 54.97.
Another note on preliminaries - In the 100 breast prelims, Vivian Wang swam a 1:02.17, placing her 7th all-time on the 100 breast leader board.
Princeton did not place in the top three in the 1-meter dive.
Next up: The Tigers conclude competition at the Big Al Invitational, with prelims starting at 9 AM tomorrow morning.
