OMAHA, Neb. – The Princeton University men's swimming & diving team was represented by six current student-athletes at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the Chi Health Center from Sunday, June 13 to Sunday June 20.
Nicole Venema advanced to Wave II, while Ellie Marquardt, Amelia Liu, Margaux McDonald, Liza Whitmire and Isabella Korbly competed at Wave I.
Nicole Venema
Competing at Wave II, Venema finished 40th in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.13 and 45th in the 100 freestyle in 56.33.
At Wave I, she won the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.24 after finishing second in the heats in 59.89. Venema also finished second in the 100 freestyle final in 56.01 and ninth in the heat in 56.33. She also competed in the 50 freestyle, finishing 25th with a time of 26.16
Ellie Marquardt
Marquardt finished 14th in the 400 freestyle in 4:20.96 at Wave I, earning a spot in the B final. In the finals she finished with the top overall time of 4:14.56.
Amelia Liu
Competing at Wave I, Liu finished 22nd in the 100 freestyle in 57.16 and 26th in the 50 freestyle in 26.17.
Margaux McDonald
McDonald finished 19th at Wave I in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:03.35.
Liza Whitmire
At Wave I, Whitmire made it to the B final of the 200 IM and finished seventh in 2:19.94. In the heats she finished 17th in 2:21.28.
Isabella Korbly
Korbly advanced to the B final of the 100 backstroke at Wave I, where she finished second in 1:02.33. She tied for ninth in the heats, touching the wall at 1:02.86.

Competing at Wave II, Venema finished 40th in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.13 and 45th in the 100 freestyle in 56.33.
At Wave I, she won the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.24 after finishing second in the heats in 59.89. Venema also finished second in the 100 freestyle final in 56.01 and ninth in the heat in 56.33. She also competed in the 50 freestyle, finishing 25th with a time of 26.16
Ellie Marquardt
Marquardt finished 14th in the 400 freestyle in 4:20.96 at Wave I, earning a spot in the B final. In the finals she finished with the top overall time of 4:14.56.
Amelia Liu
Competing at Wave I, Liu finished 22nd in the 100 freestyle in 57.16 and 26th in the 50 freestyle in 26.17.
Margaux McDonald
McDonald finished 19th at Wave I in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:03.35.
Liza Whitmire
At Wave I, Whitmire made it to the B final of the 200 IM and finished seventh in 2:19.94. In the heats she finished 17th in 2:21.28.
Isabella Korbly
Korbly advanced to the B final of the 100 backstroke at Wave I, where she finished second in 1:02.33. She tied for ninth in the heats, touching the wall at 1:02.86.
