Clayman Leads Princeton as Season-Opening Tournament Wraps at Duke

The first tournament of the fall is in the books for the Princeton men's golf team as the Tigers wrapped play at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational on the Blue Devlis' home course in Durham, N.C.
Senior Sam Clayman was the top Tiger, finishing tied for 34th overall in the 81-player field at 5-over. Clayman's second round on Saturday was a red number, as the 2019 first-team All-Ivy Leaguer carded a 1-under 71.
North Carolina's Ryan Gerard (-15) and N.C. State's Maximilian Steinlechner (-13) were the two players to break 70 in all three rounds, finishing te tournament in first and second places. Their teams were also atop the team tote, with UNC finishing at -27, three strokes betteer than N.C. State at -24.
The Tigers will play in New Jersey next weekend at the Cornell Invitational at Watchung Valley Golf Club.
