Women’s Swimming and Diving Beat Harvard, Fall to Yale at HYPs

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Princeton University women's swimming and diving team split HYP weekend, defeating Harvard 202-98 and falling to Yale 182-118.
The Tigers placed in the top three in six of eight events. In two of those events, the Tigers had more than one competitor place. In the 100 butterfly, Nikki Venema (53.62) and Christina Bradley (54.03) finished one-two, while Jess Yeager (2:00.86) and Liza Whitmire (2:02.37) finished one-three in the 200 IM.
Ellie Marquardt touched first in the 500 free, with a time of 4:49.74, while Nikki Venema took second in the 100 free, going 49.67. Margaux McDonald (2:16.93) finished third in the 200 breaststroke.
Finally, in 400 free relay, the team of Vivian Wang, Ellie Marquardt, Nathalie Valdman and Jennifer Secrest (3:26.52) earned a third place finish.
Next up: The Tigers will compete in the Ivy League Championships starting February 23rd at 6:00 p.m inside Blodgett pool.
