Women's Swimming & Diving Has Strong Second Day at Ivy League Championships

RESULTS
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Princeton University women's swimming & diving team produced four top-three finishes and a pair of all-time school top-three performances on the second day at the Ivy League Championships, Thursday at Blodgett Pool.
After three sessions and with four remaining, the Tigers sit in second-place with 409.0 points.
500 Freestyle
Ellie Marquardt took third with an NCAA B cut time of 4:46.63, while Emily Appleton's time of 4:51.66 saw her finish 13th. Nathalie Valdman touched the wall at 4:51.72 to finish 14th, and Macey Mannion at 4:58.65 to finish 22nd.
200 Individual Medley
After clocking in at 1:59.29 and earning an NCAA B cut, Liza Whitmire finished third, and moved up to No. 3 on the Tigers' all-time list in the event. The previous No. 3 time in school history was 1:59.42, and was set in 2013 by Sada Stewart '16.
Margaux McDonald finished ninth in 2:01.31, and Isabella Korbly finished 15th in 2:03.32. Vivian Wang finished 21st in 2:03.45, and with a time of 2:06.16, Jaime Chen finished 24th.
In the prelim, Jess Yeager earned an NCAA B cut after touching the wall at 1:59.48. Her time also ranks No. 5 on the Tigers' all-time list.
50 Freestyle
With a time of 22.30, the second-fastest in school history, Nikki Venema earned a second-place finish along with an NCAA B cut. Megan Waters '11 previously sat at No. 2 on the Tigers' all-time list, with a time of 22.36. Venema's previous lifetime best was 22.38 from HYP in 2020, and stood at No. 3 all-time in school history.
Christina Bradley finished fourth with a time of 23.02, and Ameila Liu also earned a spot in the A final, finishing eighth in 23.20. Jennifer Secrest also touched the wall at 23.42, finishing 14th.
1-Meter Diving
With a score of 242.75, Maddie Seltzer finished eighth.
200 Freestyle Relay
The team of Bradley, Liu, Venema, and Secrest finished second with a time of 1:30.38.
